India is preparing for the next big leap in mobile technology as Jio and Airtel announce 6G trial plans for late 2025.

Telecom giants Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are racing ahead in India’s tech evolution as both companies announced plans to conduct 6G trials by the end of 2025.

According to sources from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), early trials will be conducted in partnership with international firms including Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung.

6G technology is expected to offer internet speeds up to 100x faster than 5G, enabling revolutionary applications in remote healthcare, virtual education, AR/VR, and autonomous mobility.

“We are preparing for the next decade,” said Sunil Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Airtel. “India will be at the forefront of global 6G development.”
