India’s First AI Traffic System Launched in Bangalore: Here’s How It Works
Bangalore unveils India’s first AI-powered traffic control system to reduce congestion and improve emergency response times.
Bangalore has officially become the first city in India to adopt an AI-powered traffic management system. This revolutionary system, designed by Indian startup TraffAI, uses machine learning and real-time analytics to optimize traffic flow across major intersections.
The AI module detects congestion patterns, reroutes vehicles, and gives priority to emergency services like ambulances and fire trucks. According to city officials, this will reduce commute times by up to 30% during peak hours.
“This is a step towards making our cities smarter,” said Ashwini Desai, Chief Technology Officer at TraffAI. “We’re using data to save lives and time.”
With successful deployment in Bangalore, plans are underway to roll out the system in Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad by the end of this year.
